Daniel and I met through the music scene in Vancouver, mutual friends, mutual parties. He's since made the same move I have from Vancouver to Toronto and is killing it in the 6. Check out his story below and find and follow him on the Internet, he's always modern hobo'ing and doing rad shit around the world. It's so cool seeing pals grow and succeed and follow their dreams.
NAME: Daniel Bray
OCCUPATION: Photographer and Filmmaker (also driver, merch guy, grip/gaff, party tech).
YOUR BAND/COMPANY: Freelance.
BANDS YOU'VE WORKED FOR: Holly Springs Disaster, Emarosa, A Textbook Tragedy, Living With Lions, Structures, The Balconies.
OTHER INTERESTS/SKILLS: I enjoy spending time fishing, watching baseball, and hanging out with my amazing wife and our cat.
YOUR STORY: I'm your stereotypical small town prairie boy trying to find his way in the big city. I was born and raised in Saskatoon but moved to Toronto and then Vancouver to go to school. After school I ended up setting up camp back in Toronto. I'm still trying to figure out what it is exactly I do, however I'm really enjoying my journey. Capturing special moments and different faces are the things that make me happy. I'm really fortunate to have had the opportunity to see most of North America while riding along with bands that my friends play in.
FAVOURITE PART OF TOUR/TRAVEL: Meeting new people and exploring new cities. I like the little nuances that differ between communities. Two cities in the same province that are only an hour down the highway from one another can be so different. Each time you pass through a city for the second, third or fourth time you learn new things about it and experience it differently than the time before.
TOUR/TRAVEL HACK: Those little silica packets from shoeboxes are a lifesaver. Throw a hand full of those in your camera/laptop bag to keep the humidity and moisture down. Going from an air conditioned bus or venue to outside can create more moisture than you'd think in your gear bag. Keep that shit dry.
BEST TOUR/TRAVEL STORY: There's too many to count. It's a tie between getting peed on by Matt Postal (Living With Lions) in my sleep OR the infamous Stoufville brawl of 2008.
